The Dillie Society for Animal Rescue

Our domestic deer Dillie became an international celebrity in 2009.  Born blind, she became a treasured part of our family.  She was such a joy that we called her "Love on Hooves."  Sadly, we lost our girl in 2022, at age 18.
We continue to aid animals in need through her fundraising efforts.  Each month, we donate a stipend to an animal or pet owner in need or a pet rescue.

You can purchase books about Dillie on the products page.

StatVet, Inc. was incorporated in the state of Ohio in 1989, and was the parent company to the Stark County Veterinary Emergency Clinic and then later Elm Ridge Animal Hospital, both operated by Dr. Melanie Butera.  Since selling these practices, StatVet continues to be the parent company to Dr. Butera's relief services, software applications, and publications about Dillie the Deer and veterinary mentorship.   The StatVet Patient Management System (PMS) was developed at SCVEC and is still in use today, managing the data and performing countless calculations  of tens of thousands of emergency cases.
